Torrechiara Castle

A masterpiece in Val Parma and a renowned reference site.
Built among 1448 and 1460 by Pier Maria Rossi, one of the most beautiful and well preserved examples of italian castle architecture. The defensive function is witnessed by three rings of walls and four angular towers, the residential function by the artistic treasures , such as the ‘grottesche’ frescoes by Cesare Baglione and the extraordinary “Camera d’Oro”, (Golden Room) attibuted to a Benedetto Bembo, celebrating both the love history between Pier Maria and Bianca Pellegrini and the power of the family.
